WHO ARE HEALTH IN FOCUS?
HIF exists to make healthcare more accessible, equitable and effective by turning local insight, evidence and collaboration into meaningful action.
Health in Focus (HIF) is a youth led, volunteer run not for profit charity founded in late 2020 to tackle health inequity - a challenge no single organisation, profession, program, or country can solve alone. We bring people together to break down barriers to healthcare and education, turning community priorities into meaningful action.
Our aim is to help build a future where better health is shaped with communities, sustained locally, and shared across borders. We break this down further into 3 key objectives:
1
Reduce Global Inequity
We work to reduce barriers that prevent people and communities from accessing quality healthcare, health information and education.
- Improve access to healthcare for underserved communities.
- Address social, geographic and economic barriers to health.
- Support locally appropriate responses to health inequity.
- Connect communities with people and resources that can help.
2
Enhance Health, Education & Well-being
We help people develop the knowledge, support and opportunities needed to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
- Improve health literacy and access to reliable information.
- Increase opportunities for prevention and early intervention.
- Deliver accessible health education within communities.
- Empower people to share health knowledge with others.
3
Waste Less & Help More
We use the resources available to us more effectively so that funding, equipment, knowledge and existing capacity can create greater social value.
- Reduce unnecessary waste across healthcare and our programs.
- Promote responsible reuse and redistribution where appropriate.
- Maximise the value created by every dollar and resource contributed.
- Consider long-term sustainability when designing initiatives.
